This rest-oriented temple program runs year-round and is ideal for those seeking relaxation and personal time.

Participation in all activities or ceremonies is not mandatory. A brief introduction to temple etiquette can be provided upon request.

Participants may spend their time walking through the fir tree forest or along the stream-side trail, joining Buddhist ceremonies, reading books, or simply resting.

Reservations must be made at least two days in advance.

As our relaxing templestay programs prioritize a peaceful and quiet environment, rooms are assigned based on the number of guests.
Please note that availability may be limited if suitable room types are fully booked.

All rooms include a private bathroom.

Rooms are pre-assigned during booking, and changes are not permitted on the day of check-in.

Age & Participation Guidelines
Guests under 19 and over 75 must be accompanied by a guardian (family member or acquaintance).
Children under 5 are not permitted to participate, even with a guardian.

We are not a hotel. We do not have a front desk that operates 24 hours.
The Templestay office closes at 5 PM.

The temple is a practicing place for Monks.
In order to not disturb the practicing spirit of the temple, please follow the norms of the program to the best of your ability.
 
1. Community Life
Return items to their proper places and be considerate of others.
Use designated doors and keep shoes neatly arranged.

2. Behavior in the Temple
Silence 🤫 Speak less to reflect on yourself and not disturb others.
Half-bow (Hapjang) 🙏 respectfully when meeting others in the temple, especially Sunims.
Chasu is a Respectful Posture 🤲 used when walking in the temple or in front of a Sunim, place your right hand over your left hand at the center of your belly.

3. Punctuality and Participation
Be punctual for chanting and meals.
Wear clean, modest clothing and socks inside the Main Hall.

4. Yaebul (Chanting)
Enter quietly, do three full bows to the Buddha, and take your seat.
Use the side doors and Always bow halfway to the Buddha when entering or exiting the halls.

5. Gongyang (Meals)
Don’t waste food and wash the dishes yourself.
Maintain silence during meals as it is a time for practice.

6. Temple Conduct
Smoking and drinking alcohol are strictly prohibited.
Please refrain from walking around the temple grounds after 9 PM.

7. Take Care of Your Belongings
Be responsible for your personal items and ensure they are kept safe.
The temple is not responsible for any loss or accidents outside its grounds.

8. Checkout
Clean your room before leaving.
Return temple clothes to the laundry basket. (Check your pockets!)
No need to stop by the office when checking out.

1) Taking a bus from Seoul

1-1) Take a bus to “Jinbu(진부)”  at the “Dong Seoul Terminal(동서울 터미널)”
It takes about 2 hours and 10 minutes.
The fare is 18,700 won, and It runs eight times a day.

1-2) Take a bus to “Jinbu(진부)” at the "Seoul Nambu Terminal(서울 남부 터미널)"
it takes about 2 hours and 20 minutes.
The fare is 19,800 won, and It runs three times a day.

* In addition, Wonju Terminal and Gangneung Terminal also operate Intercity Bus.

2) From JinbuTerminal to Woljeongsa

2-1) Take a taxi from JinbuTerminal to Woljeongsa
It takes about 20 minutes, The taxi fare will probably be 22,000 won.

2-2) Take a local bus from JinbuTerminal to Woljeongsa
It takes about 20 minutes to, like a taxi. And the bus fare is 1,000 won.
* But it runs every 1 to 2 hours, Please make sure to check the detailed local bus schedule with the Jinbu Bus Terminal office.





3) When you arrive in Woljeongsa, the "templestay office" is about 5~10 minutes on foot.


□ Train(KTX)

1) Taking a KTX Train from Seoul

1-1) From Cheongnyangni Station to Jinbu(Odaesan) Station
It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to Jinbu(Odaesan) Station and the fare is 20,300 won.

It takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes to Jinbu(Odaesan) Station and the fare is 21,900 won.

* There are also other ways to board at other stations using the Kyeong-gang Line. (Gangneung, Seowonju, etc.)

2) How to get to Woljeongsa at once(2-1) or via(2-2)

2-1) Take a taxi from Jinbu Station(KTX) to Woljeongsa.
It takes about 20 minutes to Woljeongsa.
The taxi fare will probably be 22,000 won.

2-2) Take a taxi from Jinbu(Odaesan) Station(KTX) to Jinbu BusTerminal.
It takes about 5 minutes, which is the distance covered by the base fare of a taxi.

And take a local bus from JinbuTerminal to Woljeongsa.
It takes about 20 minutes to Woljeongsa, and the bus fare is 1,000 won.
* But it runs every 1 to 2 hours, Please make sure to check the detailed local bus schedule with the Jinbu Bus Terminal office.
