Daeheungsa Temple is located against the backdrop of the spectacular scenery of Duryunsan Mountain at the southernmost tip of the country, and is the headquarters of one of the 22 parishes of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism.
Master Seosan (1520-1604) proclaimed that it is a safe land that will not be damaged for 10,000 years, and due to the efforts of Seon (Zen) Master Choui (1786–1866) of the 13 Great Masters, Daeheungsa Temple has established its prominence in Korean tea culture.
